topiary balls & domes

Ball shapes can be used as single pieces to give structure, substance and form to your garden. They give the garden an added dimension providing balance in your herbaceous borders and have the benefit of an evergreen presence for winter enjoyment. They are also popular to place either side of your front door in planters.

Box (Buxus sempervirens) ball shapes can be as round as footballs or similar to the London Dome shape. Box balls are measured and priced by diameter and start at 20cm diameter going up to 170cm diameter.

Balls and domes are available in Box (Buxus sempervirens), English Yew (Taxus baccata), Holly, Portugal Laurel (Prunus lusitanica), Ilex crenata and Osmanthus varieties.

Recently designers have used Box balls to form cloud hedging, as often seen in the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, to create different patterns of balls to create the illusion of clouds on or around the lawn.
