Box head trees are used as hedges and individual pieces to compliment the garden. The trees are supplied with a clear stem of between 1.80 and 2.20 metres and a girth size of 18cm plus. You are unlikely to find Box-head trees with a smaller girth size as the tree needs to be mature enough to provide material to shape the box-head.
Depending on the age of the tree the cubes on top can be supplied in different sizes, obviously the older the tree the larger the pre-prepared cube. Box-head pleached trees are traditionally formed from Hornbeam (Carpinus betulus), but are also available in American Lime (Tilia americana).
